Meet Your Facilitators

Make Media Camp workshops are co-led by Shelly and Wes Fryer.

Shelly is a third grade classroom teacher at Casady School in Oklahoma City, and has over 20 years of teaching experience in elementary schools as well as church ministry. Shelly is a 2018 Code.org Elementary Ambassador for Oklahoma, a Seesaw Ambassador, and was named a national PBS Digital Innovator in 2015. Wes is the director of technology at Casady School and co-teaches “STEAM Studio” and coding after-school classes with other faculty. Wes completed his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction in 2011 and is the author of several books about media creation and technology integration. These include “Playing with Media” (2011) and “Mapping Media to the Curriculum” (2013). Make Media Camp is based on five successful years of iPad Media Camp workshops led by Shelly and Wes, as well as Wes’ ongoing digital literacy project “Show with Media: What do you want to CREATE today?”
